Backstage Pass Fires Up Stride Bank Center Ahead of Night Ranger!!

Local Enid favorite Backstage Pass proved exactly why they earned their spot, defeating more than 20 bands in a battle of the bands to open for Night Ranger at Stride Bank Center in Enid, Oklahoma. The band delivered a tight, high-energy 45-minute set that had the crowd locked in from the first note.

Their setlist blended classic rock favorites with confidence and polish, including “Hold the Line” (Toto), “Working for the Weekend” (Loverboy), “Me and Bobby McGee” (Janis Joplin), and “Stop Dragging My Heart Around” (Stevie Nicks). Frontwomen Tani Mahaffey & Jae Foster were the clear standouts—their vocals were powerful, controlled, and engaging throughout the night. Backed by a rock-solid band, the musicianship behind them were equally impressive, keeping the sound tight and the energy high.

Backstage Pass didn’t just open the show—they set the tone. Their performance had the crowd warmed up, energized, and more than ready for Night Ranger to take the stage. A strong showing from a local band that continues to raise the

bar.--Jeff Bemis Former GM at Stride Bank Center. Currently GM for The Agricultural Multipurpose Education and Training Center Commerce Texas

Bacstage Pass always crushes it at the Alibi. Big sound, tight band, and a hit-loaded set that keeps people planted at the bar, singing along, and ordering another round. This is the kind of band that turns a regular night into a stay-for-one-more night. When Backstage Pass plays The Alibi, people show up and they stay.- Jenni Thompson owner of The Alibi

The band was so fun and easy to work with. Their song choices were great for every generation at our reception, a good blend of slow and dance classics! To this day everyone has told us how awesome the band was at our reception and couldn't believe they were from right here in Enid. We highly recommend backstage pass if you have an event and want to class it up! Looking forward to having them for future events.- Tanner Newby

To w h o m it may concern,
As the Elk's entertainment director, it's hard to find the right combination of a fun band, who
plays hits, dance songs, and great musicians on top of it all. Backstage Pass for your classic rock
fans and Skeleton Station for your classic country fans certainly fit that bill. These 2 bands, with
the same members, are entertaining and fun and always bring a crowd, when they play. I have
found them easy to work with on scheduling and they are respectful of their crowd on being too
loud or too soft. You need to have them at your establishment or event to have a wonderful time!-Randy Wagner  Elk's Entertainment Director

BSP REVIEW

I had the chance to see Backstage Pass many times before I had the opportunity  to book them. There are a lot of great musicians and bands out there. However, to be able to put on a great show and convey enthusiasm and joy to the audience? Not all that common. Backstage Pass checks all the boxes. They've mastered the Classic Rock canon and will please that audience immensely. Go see 'em or book 'em. Either choice will be a winner.-FRANK BAKER

SKELETON STATION REVIEW

I was raised on a farm and ranch operation in Oklahoma. And, I know my Country Music. Listened to it all my life and I'm aware there's a substantial part of the country audience who prefers Classic Country. May I submit Skeleton Station for your approval. Go see 'em! They're blessed with great vocals and superb musicianship. And if you're looking to book a band that will make you look good to your audience and be an even bigger draw the second time around, Skeleton Station is a winner!- FRANK BAKER

Backstage Pass is THE band to have at any event. The setlist they choose is absolutely perfect every time! We have had them play for us the last 3 years and will not even look at another band to play at the Kansas Kruisers Summer Daze Car Show. The energy they exhibit and the interaction with the crowd is so pleasing that spectators request them year after year! Thank you for rocking!! - Cory King-Kansas Kruisers Car Club - Garden City. About

Backstage Pass/Skeleton Station

2 Bands 1 Group

If your wanting a classic rock band or a country band, look no further.

It was the year 2012 when Backstage pass met in the basement of  Shawn and Tani's home. With Shawn on drums,Steve Yarbrough on vocals, Phil Doud on keys, Chris Bush on Guitar, Rick Roberts on bass and Tani and Jae on backup vocals, they were working towards hitting the music scene with a vengeance. But,due to a promising career path with United Airlines, Steve had to part ways with the band leaving a hole to be filled. As the band was in search for a new lead singer, Tani insisted that the band give her sister, Jae a shot. It didn't take long for the band to realize, with these two at the helm, they had something special.

Fast forward to 2014, Phil  Doud moved to Alabama. In 2015 , finally filling the void Phil created, they added Dr. John Bartolozzi as lead guitarist.  In 2019, Rick Roberts retired from Backstage Pass leaving an opening for a bass player. Local legend Dave Roberts was available to fill in until they could find someone that could fit, but a gig in he decided to stay.

Sadly, in 2021 Chris Bush had to step away from the band due to health issues.   As Chris departed, Dave suggested that we invite Steven Harwood to join since he had sat in with them a few times.

As Backstage Pass evolved, they have played all over NW Oklahoma and Kansas, opened up for the legendary band Night Ranger ( not Night Ryder lol) and was voted Enid's 2024 Best Cover Band .

Since Jae decided to slow down a little and spend more time with family, in 2024 the band, Skeleton Station was formed (which is Backstage Pass without Jae). Skeleton Station is a classic country dance band playing at your local Moose and Elks Lodge's, private party's and hopes to be around for many many years to come.
